Prepare Muffin Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, milk, eggs, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Cook the Muffins

  1. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  6. While muffins are still warm, dip tops into the cinnamon sugar mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
